Update: NaNo and Ev
Dec. 3rd, 2019 04:43 pmWon NaNoWriMo, yay. Draft isn't finished. It's emotionally exhausting.
Ev got an apartment the Monday after she arrived and picked the keys up on Wednesday. She called the moving service, who said they could deliver it by Sunday.
Friends, they did not deliver it by Sunday.
It arrived the following Thursday afternoon. You know, Thanksgiving. That little thing. So we went up to wait for the delivery, leaving Alex and Kat to watch Miraculous Ladybug. I brought my little light show speaker, which seems to have a dead battery now. We blasted dance music at a sedate volume and assembled IKEA furniture, then supervised the unload.
Almost everything was fine except the gash in the cat tree (Fishmum brought the curved needle on Friday) and oh, the missing suitcase. Incompetent Ivan at the customer service place had argued with the delivery drivers that despite being with Ev's load and stickered sequentially with Ev's load, it was not part of Ev's load. Ivan subsequently promised to ship it.
We went back home for more turkey and to collapse for the night. Ev left her car so she wouldn't have to drive the whole way. We went back on Friday, which Silver also had off due to the fact that Sunday was December 1st, and got everything unloaded and set up. Sweetie Meow watched from the top of her cat tree and pranced over the sideways 4x2 Kallax at the foot of the bed.
Her first day of work was yesterday.
